by John D. on At first glance, I was stoked at being able to eat and drink on a boat. How awesome! And of course all I could sing in my head while walking to the boat was "I'm on a boat!!" And then I get to the boat...and all my dreams come crashing down. Essentially it is a frat house on a boat - young people yelling and pushing around, limited seating, top-40 dance music pumping in the back...and those are the good qualities? They only serve Corona which is fine, but after a while it's nice to vary it up. Being on a boat was a redeeming quality, it offers great views and its unique. For about 15 minutes, and then the shouts of 22-year-old Jersey frat boys and the screams of sorority girls having a ladies night out gets old. I've been through college, I'd like a change of scenery.
by Shaniqua Semrad on What a cool place and yet there is nothing truly special about it. It's four walls and a bunch of movable IKEA furniture on wheels. I really like the social vibe this place has. It is usually easy to talk to people and it's not overly crowded most of the time. I'll admit, sometimes the line to get in can be annoying and you can expect to be in it for an hour despite repeated texts you get from your friends telling you that the place is empty. Get here by 9pm and you should be ok. That might sound early, but you won't want to leave. Once inside you can feel the energy. The music is always great, and the crowd usually starts to dance after midnight adding to the energy and overall good feel that the place has. The bar is usually busy as well, and since there is only one the bartenders can be a bit overwhelmed, but despite that they are always friendly. The bathrooms are clean, but plan ahead so to speak. The line for them can also be long. I like to go here often. It can be a bit of a pickup joint but in some sort of way that ads to the "charm". The crowd is classy and most people know their limits. It's one of the few trendy bars in the location so it attracts a tight group of people that know what they want.
