by I r m z P. on My review is for The Highlands Loft: I'm gonna keep this basic. I loved this place for all the basic reasons. (Yeah, that's why) Has a nice city view, chill, mature crowd, 7 rooms to chill in, and TWO smoking sections, TWO bars on the same floor, and a DJ that played a bit of the..."Baby when were grindin', I get soo excited", and " I thought I told you that we wont stop. Eh , eh, eh, eh!" Lmao. And also a bit more of the "If you're a single laydee, let me buy you a round". Yes, you can buy me a round anytime. (; I had a blast with all my peeps, and the fact that we rolled through deep made it even better. We got in for free thanks to connections and guest list, so I'm not sure what the price to get in is. Yes, its like that! Drinks are okay. My martini could have been a bit stronger. Homegirl I didn't tip you for no reason. Let that hand run loose. I will be back, lets just wait for warmer nights. (now for a little unnecessary virgin-review-writing background!!)being that I'm one of the only people I know who enjoys good funky house, I wasn't too sure if I would ever find a place in the LA area to hear some solid house...Through a Google search I fell upon rateclubs.!!! My life hasn't been the same....as I perused through the listings for L.A. nightlife this King King joint kept popping up and had a damn good rating and set of reviews from a wide-range of people...HOUSE MUSIC...WHAT!.. (now on to the review)so i take a friend with me and we head on down to Hollywood...after about an hour and a half sitting in traffic on the 101....we arrive at a nondescript Hollywood Blvd storefront building... the parking lot is right behind the building next to the club...which though it was ten dollars I thought it was convenient because I don't like valets drive my car like a madman throughout LA....walking towards the building you hear the bass rumbling and you know the sound-system isn't going to disappoint...short line...light search by the doorman....15 dollar cover after 10:30 pm on saturdays...10 dollars before...due to traffic...we arrived way after that...but don't fret rateclubsers because as someone already said, it doesn't close until 4:00 in the morning...the music was great and provided by Westcoast Collective...a group of Djs I wasn't familiar with but...yea they're the truth..check em out at: http://www.westcoastco........great drinks...but I won't lie even compared to average LA...they're nice n pricey...i think it was 26 for 2 Ketel on the Rocks...and 4 for a cool bottle of arrowhead....as i've already stated the music was great and I saw people of all colors and ages....now for the fellas: don't come thinking you will find single women to dance with...bring a girlfriend or you're significant other or you'll be dancing solo next to fifty other sweaty single guys just like yourself! for the ladies: beware of the guys who keep two-stepping closer to and appears to be just grooving to the music...he's not....lol...overall great experience..enjoy it... i did
