by Bernard x. on This place didn't seem as bad to me as mentioned by the reviewers below, however it has been over a year since going to this club. From my experience, it has been pretty chill. I've had photography gigs for the promoter around this time last year; for the most part, it was a cool environment i.e. people, music, setting. I remember losing my flash diffuser for my camera, and coming back to ask one of the bouncers, and he had recovered it, stored it, and gave it back to me, which I thought was rather nice. Inside, there is a huge fish tank which featured the elegant fish from Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. I've only experienced the bottom floor subdivided into two areas. There's a pool table. Smell? All I smell is Atmosphere. DJ plays Vintage Hip Hop & R&B, Rock, Electro with club anthem mashups & remixes. I've met the regular DJ's, bartenders, security and I believe one of the owners- they were all cool. I would though like to make it clear that I primarily came to the venue for the Tuesday - no cover promotion. Only a couple times I went on Fri/Sat and this place would get jammed-packed. I don't recall any negative experience other than jammed-packed.
by Shavonne Baillet on You have to go here at least once. Although the varsity is not what it once was. Now the varsity has computer screens so they no longer have to yell out what you are ordering. They are also using vegetable oil now, which is great for america, but its just not the same grease pit it used to be.
