by Alvin P. on Ok. so tonight was different due to the fact that I actually made guestlist and got in for free, but thats where the differences come to a screeching halt. This place is pretty damn bigggg. the main room is definitely an artwork. the colors, lights and statues make this look like a shrine or something out of some kind of a "look at me I'm somewhere hella ballin." Then there's two rooms downstairs. a house/techno room and another where they play hip hop. The most dope thing is a guy selling hot dogs with bacon in the hallway leading to the outside smoking area. that brought this place up from a 2 to a 3. as for the crowd....yeahhhhh. ill just say its not my crowd. first off, you got your douches. the guys that come all dressed up in ed hardy button ups and what not smelling like they took a shower in cologne. to add to that, they are like pests on the dance floor. they seriously swarm on girls like hyenas to a dead piece of meat. I feel bad for my homegirls. I warn you...DO NOT WEAR NICE SHOES TO THE HIP HOP ROOM. unless you want a red clay stain on your shoes, I recommend wearing some sort of a stain resistant material or shoes you don't care about. P.S. one of the hot bartenders there made one of the best long islands I've ever had. biggyups to my tall, angelic bartender
by Cortney Procsal on It's exactly the type of place you look for before seeing a show at the Independent with a group of roadies: good, hearty Ethiopian food and for cheap, too. The injera bread is thicker here than most places and the vegetables & meats are seasoned just right. You'll be stuffed before you realize how much you've eaten. They also offer the Harar lager as well as the domestic stuff to aid in digesting all that good stuff you just threw down your injera-hole. There's ample room in the back for a party and a pool table sits front and center.
