by Alexis R. on So I went here last night in hopes that there would be people my dads age. We are in NY together and I wanted a night out on the town and wanted him to talk and have a good time with people (he's a big talker and loves meeting people). I would have loved to go to a place where I could dance and that was high energy with people my age (22-27) but decided that this would be a cool thing for him and I wouldnt want to go to a lounge/club like that with my dad. This place was pretty mellow and the energy was sooooo low. There were a good amount of men that were 40+ but barely any women. There were tons of guys and the women were in thier late 20's early 30's. There were alot of douchey older men and they kept giving me that creeper eye thinking that I was my dads date or something, so gross. We got a couple of drinks, he had a bacardi and coke and I had a jack and diet coke. The drinks were really week and $12-$14 each, which is expected but for how weak they were it is a major thumbs down (I work at a nightclub so i understand the prices) We ended up leaving and going bar/lounge hopping. The meatpacking district is really for a younger crowd (like my age) and we made the best of it. There were some really cool places that I would go back to when I come back to NY with a friend :o) I had as great of a time as i could with my dad by my side. He had fun checking out all the cute girls (while I cringed and sucked another drink down heehee)
by Nolan Spicher on Definitely a bowling alley with a twist. Not your casual type of atmosphere. Here are the highlights: - Pricey - Posh interior - Showy. Although not banned, I probably wouldn't wear jeans here. - Lots of lounge space and great conversational atmosphere. - Large bar area. - The bowling lane looks shorter than the average, although it may have just been me. - High ceilings...I love a place with high ceilings...so the space feels larger than it is. Overall I'd say it's a great place to host out of town friends or a special night out. Unless you enjoy and can afford to spend money frivolously, it's not likely that you will be frequenting this place often.
