by Enrique Flinspach on Same ol taboo 2. Went on amateur comedy night with my homegirl. The comedians were terrible and the food was overpriced. If anything, thought a black establishment would recognize a struggling economy. Anyhow, this is definitely the place for black cougars and ol playas to recapture their days from the late 80s , and 90s.
by Burt Arthur on Kinda overrated in my opinion... I've never been to this place before so figured why not? I was going to make a reservation but was told by the lady that my group was only allowed to stay at the table for a maximum of two hours. THERE'S A TIMELINE FOR STAYING AT A TABLE WHEN YOU'RE ORDERING FOOD?!?! No, that's not cool. We were going to eat there, but decided to just go there for drinks since they were going to limit our time. The whole point of going there was to chill and eat and then stay for some drinks, not be forced out! So we came for drinks and cover is free. At 10:30pm, not many people were there, so no line. We got in and when we went inside, it was crowded. The groups were mixed and so we finally got a seat at the bar and ordered some mixed drinks. It was a 50/50 with the drinks. Bubblicious drink: Order it! Citris Cocktail: SOUR as heck The drinks were pricey too, but thats what I expected from a no cover bar :D The upstairs was nice decor, but then I had to go to the bathroom and... face the downstairs dancefloor... So we went downstairs and I swear it felt like a sauna. It was so crowded, my girl friend and I had to dance our way through the crowd to get to the bathroom... which only had two stalls... really? really? The downstairs dancefloor was full of asians, which I don't mind, but it reminded me of clubbing in LA. haha No wonder my guy friend recommended it! hahaha But we went back up to get our drinks and we had our dates hold our spots and they took my drink away which I was not done with. So that killed it for me. So we left and saw a MASSIVE line (12:15am) outside and thought... wow... so come early.
by Derek B. on It's cool to eat with your fingers at Waziema! It's also cool to try the Ethio beers, like the Harar Hakim Stout, a tasty 5.8% abv stout. You know what is not cool? That fact that the food service is clearly an afterthought to the booze slangin at the bar. Lame.
