I went here last night for my friend's birthday party.. I always pass by that area before but I never pay attention to the sign.. The building is a few walks away from The Highlands.. Okay, the ambiance is pretty cool with some Asian flavor around the restaurant.. A huge bar area right next to where we sat... The food there was okay from what I ordered (Chinese Chicken Salad).. I'm sorry but I've tasted way better restaurants with Chinese Chicken Salads, this salad I had was bland but hey, that's just my opinion.. My friend ordered the sushi plate and it was pretty big size... I ate some kind of tempura mixed rice and sushi on top.. I don't know what's it called but it was part of the sushi plate.. It tasted kinda weird, more of the tempura flavor.. The lounge area going to the restrooms on the second floor looks sweet overlooking the bar and dining area... Restrooms are super clean (I'm kinda picky when it comes to clean restrooms) The waiters were excellent, filling up my glass every time before it hits half... The waiter we had is Nogen, very pleasant dude showing us around the menu and his crew were very helpful.. After the dinner, we went straight to the dancing area on the 3 floor (I think, I know it's not the roof area where the VIP's were).. I think there were 3 dancing areas.. One in the basement below the restaurant (there's an ATM there straight ahead after you go downstairs), one in the 3rd floor, then one in the rooftop (VIP area).. Overall I liked the ambiance restaurant side of Kress.. The food was okay, not the best.. The dance floors were wide enough to fit 100 people each floor, a lot of couches to sit on (a plus there).. The music kinda sucked that night.. Actually the DJ sucks (could have played better records, and I know he some of the good stuff.)

I used to go here a lot when I worked with a guy who knew the bartenders and bouncers. We got in for free and were good for at least a few comped drinks while we were there. The big attraction for me was that wasn't in Buckhead and had a seemingly more sophisticated crowd in comparison. It's a cool layout with Cosmopolitan and Lava being essentially two bars in one. It gives you a chance to move around and mingle in multiple locations. Of course, I was single and a bit younger when I was going there regularly, so my opinion would probably be different now. I've transitioned to the dive bar and hole in the wall scene now. I worry more about cold beer and good fried snacks than scenes or meeting people.
