by Aadip D. on Let me come clean...I never actually made it INSIDE the club/bar/restaurant/meat-market. A friend invited me to a private birthday party. We were on the Guest List and were told ahead of time that we would not have to queue up to get in. At the velvet ropes outside, they would not seat us until our entire party was there. I hear that. But even after our whole crew of three arrived and after two hours of waiting, they would not let us in AT ALL. They needed an even ratio of women to men inside. Therefore they were not letting any more guys in. To quote the bouncers, "There's no chance you're getting in tonight." They also informed us that they were imposing a two bottle minimum per table at appx. $350/bottle. WTF? So, La Vida got my $10 in valet fees. I went home and drank some top shelf gin for $25 with my dogs. They should rename the club, "Pérdida de Tiempo."
by Mitchell Borrolli on I used to go here a lot when I worked with a guy who knew the bartenders and bouncers. We got in for free and were good for at least a few comped drinks while we were there. The big attraction for me was that wasn't in Buckhead and had a seemingly more sophisticated crowd in comparison. It's a cool layout with Cosmopolitan and Lava being essentially two bars in one. It gives you a chance to move around and mingle in multiple locations. Of course, I was single and a bit younger when I was going there regularly, so my opinion would probably be different now. I've transitioned to the dive bar and hole in the wall scene now. I worry more about cold beer and good fried snacks than scenes or meeting people.
