Prior to coming here I did a little research via rateclubs. No where in my wildest imagination did I expect a similar situation to occur WHEN ITS RAINING. SERIOUSLY? I can totally see WHY this venue is rated so low. I came here last night and the weather was definitely not on our side. The parking wasnt too bad if you arrive early (before 1030/11pm). As we approached the venue, there was so many different lines it was confusing BUT we figured the longest line is usually the guestlist line. There wasn't HELLA people in line either (~15-20) but they sure did hold the lines. We arrived a little before 1030pm and with a line of only 15-20 people, we waited for 30 minutes in the COLD & WINDY weather. Luckily there was tents, but no one wants to be in that kinda weather. Around 1045pm, the line was growing BUT the line wasnt moving (its still RAINING, are you serious guys?)...people were going into other different lines yet no one could answer me WHAT LINES THOSE WERE FOR. It was extremely frustrating because I knew that guestlist was closing and I arrived on time - by simple denomination, I should be able to get in right? WRONG. It was 10:57pm. Guestlist ends at 11pm. We arrived BEFORE 10:30pm. Not only did we not make guestlist! They "claimed" that we weren't on guestlist. PLEASE DONT EVEN TRY TO PULL A FAST ONE cuz I am 100% sure I put myself on guestlist as did the other 30 people we came with. Upon signing up for the Thursday Event, we received a confirmation message that said "You have been added to the mailing list." Is that not enough confirmation that I was added? How in the world are you going to tell me that we're not on it? There must be something technically wrong with your website/server because it is not receiving any of the names that are subscribing to your stupid mailing list. Simple PRINCIPLE and LOGIC would tell me that I would be able to get in for FREE. I would totally understand if I arrived late and was asked to pay BUT I have no tolerance for poor management and idiotic bouncers/workers. Of course I was furious, so I told the lady in charge of guestlist that I was 100% certain I was on the list. She scrolled her ipad and verified that my friends and I were NOT on there. After tons of discussion (that led to some voice raising), she went to speak with someone else to get confirmation on allowing us to get in with a discounted rate (I'm assuming the GM). She claimed that I had disrespected her by calling her a foul name but I was 100% sober and 100% certain that the only language I used was the simple "WTF". In the end the GM (I'm assuming) allowed for all of us to get in for $5 instead of $10 and it was too much trouble in the rain to try to get into somewhere else so we stayed. Venue is upscale/nice, but smaller than I imagined - only 1 big general room. Crowd is mixed. After this incident and similar incidents with my friends trying to get into this venue - I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE RETURNING! To any future rateclubsERS trying to come here, UNLESS YOU'RE DOING BOTTLE SERVICE HERE don't be so sure that your whole party is on guestlist. ____________________________________ -edit 12/23/10 I JUST received an email to one of their upcoming events. WAY TO GO MW guestlist - ___ -

Been there once. Not aching to go back. Most of the reviews are consistent with my experience. There are plenty of other places worth visiting.

I went for Mo Betta Mondays which showcases African American comedians. Got the tickets from Goldstar which saved a little money. LIke any comedy show, some comedians were funnier than others. My usual complaint is that the show did not start on time. It was supposed to start at 8 and I think it started around 8:35 or 8:40. The venue is pretty intimate. We sat at one of the high top tables in the back. I did not find the food and drinks to be overly expensive. They have a 2 item minimum like every other place. I'd go back again. Oh.. and street parking was easy to find.
