I haven't actually eaten IN the restaurant, but I have ordered take-out and let me tell you, the food is really good, but the prices are outrageous, over-the-top and insane hence the 2 stars. I have lived in Manhattan and eaten at a LOT of restaurants, I'm used to being charged high prices to live here, but these were unjustifiable. I ordered guacamole that was fresh and very authentic tasting (coming from Texas, I know Mexican food and guacamole), but for $11 I could have saved myself the money and made it myself. That's a huge markup for an avocado and some tomatoes! I also ordered the Tacos al Carbon which were a little on the rich side due to an overabundance of queso mixed in and on it, but it was still the best I've had lately. It came with a SMALL side of rice and 2 types of beans, pinto and black. VERY small servings of those, but the worst part was that the thing cost $19! What FOR? I totally missed why their prices are double. Someone help me here, I would love to know! Like I said, the food is great, but for that kind of money, I better have substantially more food on my plate than what I got. Too bad, too, because I could possibly eat here every day!

This place epitomizes what the Meatpacking district is becoming - large, overdone, expensive with lots of B&T. Went here on a Saturday evening with a few friends from out of town (their choice) and although the interior is quite dramatic this place is a little too much of a scene for me. You can barely find the place because on the outside it's not very well marked. We were in the bar/lounge area. The drinks are of course expensive (about $15+) and the appetizers were miniscule (about 3-5 bites on average) and close to the $20 mark. Of course, you have the typically pushy waitresses who pressure you to order another drink as soon as you have taken your last sip and the snooty hostesses. I personally won't be making an effort to come back.
