Brunch~ after Bay to Breakers ohhhhh no! We got lucky and were able to snag us a same day brunch reservation for 6 people @10:30am (same day as B2B). Thank you! We were seated quickly after signing in with the host! Awesome, especially when it was crowded with groups of folks just finished with the B2B run/walk/spectating. Nice! Hosts and waiters were dressed in fun costumes. Our waitress was really friendly & nice.... kept the bottomless mimosas & water flowing and our entrees came out fairly quickly. Food: ordered the Rueben Sandwich w/ shoe string fries. The sandwich was actually pretty scrumptious and meaty. The fries were a little overseasoned. Steak and eggs. My friend seemed to really like it, especially because it was all gone...OR he was just super hungry from walking so much. Chicken BLT sandwich~ it tasted like fish. Huh? Cool that they served bite-sized desserts for a dollar each. Tasted good but nothing worth coming back for. Bottom line: Good, fun spot...maybe not a place I would crave, though, but fun!

Did anyone notice the great artwork up on the walls and the absolutely HILARIOUS quotes that were written all over the place? I've been to 111 Minna a couple of times and its always an interesting scene. Seriously, 95% of the bars I've been to in SF (at least to me in my limited SF knowledge (only been in the city for 4 years)), are predictable. Minna is not. I had a great conversation with one of the artists that was showing some of his wares. There were other things that weren't a great fit for my palette, but I don't everything to cater to me. The music was decent. For the most part the crowd seemed pretty positive. Service was probably 4 Star quality, but I can't knock them for effort, they were certainly trying to keep up with the demand. I definitely want to go back. I just wouldn't recommend this place for people that don't have a good sense of adventure. I think timing is important too. I made this my first stop on a long night and that worked well. I could see making it a later stop in the evening, as I know sometimes the Art crowd is more of a night crowd, it just really depends on what the performance or twist is for the evening.
