I'll get my complaints in first: My burger which ordered medium rare was actually probably still breathing. Yuck. Other than that the sweet potato fries were tasty. The best and only redeeming part of this place was the milkshake. The Black & White is what I will hands down recommend to anybody. I may just come back for the milkshake.

Dark basement bar & mediocre but sincere restaurant. This place is run by a Blues Foundation. This is a non-profit operation run for the benefit of the small blues audience & the artists. So prices are low for show admission and the most expensive item on the menu is less than $20. Drink prices are city average. I've been here 20 times to see semi-famous artists. Loud acts can be REALLY LOUD in this small room. For live Blues music, I like this place better than Lou's Pier 47 or the Boom Boom room because the typical audience here is more respectful of the artists and the music. Lou's Pier 47 is fun, but it's a tourist trap for lames - I've had drinks accidently poured on me by drunk assholes from Peoria too many times there. The Boom Boom Room can get way overcrowded, so much so that it's not fun... So Biscuits & Blues gets my vote for favorite Blues joint in SF.
