by Vicente Venier on The tin ceilings, interesting (sometimes friendly, sometimes creepy) bartenders, extensive beer selection (imported as well as domestic microbrews), and creative menu makes Grace Tavern one of my favorite places to get sloshed in Philly. As an added bonus, it's not full of the obnoxious weekend warrior-types who frequent many of the bars in Center City. I love coming here because it never seems to get overly crowded. You're almost always going to be able to get a table, but on the weekends it might take a little waiting. That being said, this is probably not the best place to go if you are with a big group of people, unless you all are willing to cozy up around a four top.
by Andrew L. on Can't go wrong at the Cloon. Puts all the other 'pretend' dive bars in the neighborhood to shame. You gotta open at 6am to be a 'true' dive.
