I joined a group of friends for a birthday party last weekend. The place was as busy as expected on a Saturday night, yet they not only accommodated our party, but at least two others as well. It was loud (again, as expected) but the hustle and bustle was fun and energetic. The upstairs seemed a little more low key, so if you wanted to bring a date it would be a good option to the super busy downstairs. The food: We were lucky enough to be there on the prefix menu weekend. $25 got us a good sized appetizer, entree and their wonderful banana pudding dessert. I had the she-crab soup as my appetizer. It was creamy and had just a hint of spice. I opted for the scallops and shrimp grits. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the grits were very flavorful. Dessert was a simple banana pudding, but I was looking forward to it all evening. It was so yummy! I can't wait to come back and try some of their other menu items.

saturday night review, keeping it short and sweet: -good mixed crowd -didnt have to stand/wait in line (VIP access, baby!) -good bartenders (strong drinks!) -good music (hip hop) -big place -multiple bars oh ya....and +1 more star for the cute ass bouncer =)

There's really not a lot to add to the reviews of this place. Not a bad place by any means -- dim lighting, dark woods, trendy music with well dressed wait-staff. I found the food good and worth the price... I've had mostly steak, fish, and frittes hear... but I've enjoyed the appetizers thoroughly. The downside is that I find the place a bit generic in terms of "trendy dimly lit restaurants"... So it's not a place that I want to "go back to". But if you've a large party, and that's the kind of venue they like... one could do much worse!
