by Brenda B. on Too many moms visiting in the same house last weekend for moi to have much celebration of mothers day, so after they left my sweet husband said "I'm taking you to a 5 star place" this weekend instead. This place is great. The service was impeccable and not the least bit condescending or pretentious. The bar is totally cool, and the strawberry quella regazza (I know I'm probably not spelling it right) was super. We shared the brazeola (yes, probably misspelling again) beef and some goat cheese with honey, and both if us agreed we could have left right there and been heavenly satisfied. But we forged ahead. I was getting full so I just had the asparagus and tomato salad (deee-lish!) and my husband loved the braised pork pasta. We wanted to save room for dessert at Chocolate Pink, but everything sounded wonderful. We'll be back when I've fasted for a couple of days!!

Its on a great block, its really not a tucked away gem because there are about 4 other bar/restaurants on the same block, a hipster club, and another bar around the corner. Its always full of a lively, mostly older crowd that's very warm and inviting. You remember the small scene where Helen Hunt and her mother in As Good As It Gets are walking to the bar after they have a little tif and emotional scene and they just need to go out? that bar that they walk into and they give hugs to their friends and the music twinkles in a Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie of the week way? That's this bar right here. Simple.
