by suneel t. on I really enjoy house and Cielo's sound system hits the spot for me. They've had artists I'm familiar with every now and then which is encouraging. For the $25 admission fee, I'd consider it more of a ticket to a show than a cover charge if you end up having to pay it. The crowd is pretty mixed but definitely outclassed Pacha and Pink Elephant, not that it's hard to do. Definitely a lower creepazoid ratio present than those two spots and nowhere near the cost or hassle in terms of admission... hmm. Drinks were pricey but I expected it for anything remotely nice in meatpacking.
by Elliot Covelli on You know what, I can't hate on 181 all that much..I mean, besides the fact that there's a horrendous line by 11 and the place is like shoulder to shoulder...no literally, SHOULDER TO SHOULDER once you get in. If you can look past the long ass line w/ an overpriced cover fee the place ain't all that bad. We always go straight to the bottom floor as there always seems to be better music there and the crowd is more vibrant than the various group of 3 dudes standing off to the side watching girls dance...another plus, not too many youngin's there...like I said, NOT TOO MANY.meaning there's a couple
