I like many others really wanted to like it. I love Southern food and was ready to be very pleased. I went with my husband and our two well behaved children. Here are the details: We ordered two salads and the mussels to start. I didn't really see the value in the salads so much @ $10 a piece but I was willing to give it a pass because I assumed they were made from locally sourced produce. The mussels ($13) were just sad. I counted 14 in the bowl and 3 were inedible as they were completely closed. Further they did not bring a bowl for the shell. I would have asked for one but didn't see our waiter for some time (empty wine glass.) Entrees: Fried Chicken and the whole baked fish along with three vegetable sides: buttered peas (I would swear on my life they were frozen bagged peas), fried green tomatoes (no salt) and sauteed mushrooms. The fried chicken ($15) was just plain overdone. Dry and tough - but if you try and deep fry a piece of white meat of an enormous size it is the only result you can expect. The whole fish ($27) was probably about 12 ounces (at best) when caught - head, innards and all. After being cooked within an inch of charcoal I would say there was a scant amount of fish remaining. I think the server realized this and quickly rushed to pour some sort of horseradish and tomato sauce over the sad burned little thing. I declined. A redeeming portion of the meal was a lovely tomato salad served with the fish - lovely.

Have been to Greenhouse a few times & every time has been a good time. First and foremost the crowd at Greenhouse is good looking and socieable. The tables are close to eachother so by the end of your first drink your usually mingling with those around you. I never experienced a drink at the bar although I'm assuming it can be quite expensive and the bars are small so good luck with that! Each time I have gone to Greenhouse, I've had a table downstairs with a phenominal waitress. She's always on top of things and looking to cater to your needs. The music is great, the place is small so when the vibe gets going - IT GETS GOING. Door is strict. Usually a mess outside so I recommend table reservations, looking good & getting to the venue early. Saturdays cater to afterhours so if your out for a regular Saturday night party, you may catch yourself staying out a few hours later or walking out to a line walking in. All around great times at Greenhouse!

Hearing Francois K throw down on that sound system actually inspired me to do something that I had not done since before I knew better. That's right dammit, I danced freaky with my man on the dance floor, did the booty shake, and dropped it like it's hot! That is one bangin' system! Parking can be sketchy- but I have never had a problem with my car getting broken into here. I love the fact that there is plenty of space to dance, as well as ample seating here. It's one of my favorite venues.
