1st floor entices you to come in with its cool blue colors. Long bar with hot bartenders makes it even more enticing. Decent dance club music bumping, but no room to dance. Standing room only. So head up the stairs to the second level. Oh wait... the music really sucks on that level and the floor is completely empty. Feel like leaving? Don't leave yet! There's a third level. Yep, that's right. Another level. So head on up. Walking up the stairs. Heading on up. And them BAM! Hit a wall of bodies (and not in a good way...) Third floor overcrowded. Can't even get to the bar. Can't fit on the dance floor. So hot. So sticky. Music sucks. Time to go.

very chic theatre-like interior. trannies. stripper pole. hipsters...... what's not to love? I adore the place because it's so random and different. Admission is a bit exclusive, but the crowd is interesting. Drinks are expensive- but hey, it's nyc.. whaddya expect?! Music is fantastic (great place to dance!), and there's a burlesque or circus style show every half hour. Come with an open mind and ready for a fun time!!!

What's not to love about Bimbo's? First off - the name. Much better than "Whore's" or "Tramp's" When you walk in you are instantly transported back in time to the 1930's. Black leather, red velvet, waitresses in fishnet stockings...this place is straight up sexy. I've seen many interesting acts at Bimbo's, most notably Coldplay, Robin Williams, Ben Harper, Norah Jones...the list goes on and on. Most recently I attended the Aimee Mann 2nd Annual Christmas Show. More variety act than straight up concert, the show was a perfect fit for the vibe at Bimbo's. Make sure and call ahead to see if the show you are attending is a seated show - if so you definitely want to get there early to grab a primo seat up front or one of the coveted booths on the side.
