The new location is solid. I wonder if it still stays full of lobbyists when the state legislature is in session. The new location hasn't changed much over the space. The food and the feel is similar. There's not much for me to add to the plethora of reviews, except to avoid the cole slaw if you're looking for something traditional. The slaw has some unusual flavors (cilantro and golden raisins?) that didn't satisfy what my group was looking for in a slaw.

A seriously long time ago I used to bartend here. It was only for several months but I spent some of the funnest evenings of my life here, and after hours around town. Not only was the money good but I got to see some of the best acts in the World / Latino / Caribbean music scene right there, live, for free. Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Mighty Sparrow, Hugh Masakela, Samba bands, Cuban bands, Calypso. It was a very hot club in those days and I am pleased to see that it is still in existence. I met some great people there and am glad to say that one is still a good friend to this day. The food at the time was Brasilian-Cuban, it was good, it was free, and so was the booze. And every once in a while I jumped on the dance floor and samba'd my a** off! When we closed down at 4 PM, at least once a week it was "after hours" somewhere in Tribeca or NoHo. Frank Sinatra called NY the city that never sleeps for a reason. I haven't been back in many, many years but according to the reviews, it still is happening. Next time I hit the Big Apple, I'm there.
