If you are looking for a place outside of Meatpacking, but with a similar vibe, this is one of those places. Not everyone can get in, so make sure you and your friends look their best and have a friendly attitude. This place doesn't have a "wow" effect to it, but if you like dancing, try it on Friday or Saturday night.

Yowsers...this place is pricey... Dress code? Are you serious? Is this place a bowling alley or a club? Leave it to a place like this to turn a fun family sport into something else...give me a break! Maybe you should stop worrying about who you let in and be a little more concerned that people inside are sharing shoes... So yeah Mr. Bouncer, you think you bad? I am sure you do. Probably because your whole little crew there is rollin with touch actin Tinactin... http://www.tinactin.com/

Was rather disappointed by my experience here this evening. I'd heard that this was a great, fun place so I was excited to try it. We were able to get seated in the cool private cove which was fun. The service was friendly and attentive overall. We ordered the mild chicken, beef, lamb, which came with the various veggie dishes of lentils, spinach, potatoes, and some kind of mashed legume which I couldn't identify. All of the food came with copious amounts of injera, the spongy pancake bread. My dining companion and I both agreed that all the food lacked the complex flavor of other Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants. On top of this, the food was extremely oily and sauteed, rather then the rich, flavorful stews we were expecting. The green salad that came in the middle of it was a nice touch, but slightly wilted by the heat of the other ingredients. We asked our waitress if they served a side of tangy yogurt. She said, no, they didn't and went on to say that she personally never ate it at other restaurants because she claimed that the "housemade" yogurts are fermented outside of a refrigerator and thus unsafe to eat. We were suspecting that perhaps she was just trying to bash the competition?? It was strange to us... My experience is summed up in "it was alright." I know there are so many other solid choices in the area for Ethiopian food, and I will go elsewhere in the future when my next injera craving hits. And I know maybe it's a little bit part of Waziema's charm, but the spelling errors on the menu are simply egregious!
