I wish I'd written my review of this place sooner so I could remember all the details. Suffice it to say, while the atmosphere is a little loud for me (yeah, I'm deaf in crowded places, big deal, wanna fight about it?), I went with a group of friends and had a fantastic time. Their wine list was very comprehensive and we ended up with one moderately priced bottle and a second bottle that was the smoothest pinot noir I've tasted and the price reflected that fact. We did dinner sort of "tapas" style ... and since we had a fair number of people we mostly took to ordering 2 of each selection. For what I remember to start off there was a delicious meat & cheese plate, nice dish of mixed olives, and very fine fried goat cheese with honey. For main dishes we tried the caramelized onions, white anchovies, & manchego pizza which I thought was average given the price. Onto the main dishes the chili-braised pork with garlic & homemade parppadelle was out of sight so we ordered even more of it. We also had the fettuccine with artichoke hearts, olives, & tomatoes which was second of course to the pork pasta, but still really tasty. I'll definitely be going back here the next time I'm in Atlanta.

Established in 1817, with wall detritus to proove it (one of the posters on the wall is an urgent WWII plea for soldiers). The place is always packed around sunset because they have a nice view and plenty of benches outside to watch from. When the weather is fine New Yorkers make the most of it. They also have live music quite frequently. Everyone there feels like a regular.
