by Denver Gamarra on I never thought I would find a place that would think dancing to Belle & Sebastian was cool, but I found it!!! Other favorites during this Brit-Pop dance night on the first Saturdays of the month: Supergrass, Oasis, Elastica, The Cardigans, Blur, The Beatles, Pulp, New Order, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, etc. And if you don't like Morrissey or The Smiths, then you probably shouldn't go.... they are big fans. The cover and drinks are also reasonably priced!
by Amy L. on With nothing distinctive outside, and really nothing outstanding inside either, the only alluring feature here is (drumroll please), the SPAZZMATICS!!! They perform here Sunday nights only, and girls don't wait in line; they walk right to the front. Dressed as supergeeks, complete with tiny backpacks, suuspenders, pocket protectors, and thick glasses, the Spazzmatics do 80's covers with much gusto and the crowd always ROARS!!! You can't help but to get all consumed and my stomach always cramps watching them because I laugh so much. The bar itself is rather dingy and full of little potholes , hence you should never wear spiky hells or risk eating gravel. The crowd is usually on the attractive side and rather friendly(or is the alcohol?) Minus one star for the potholey floors!
