I like this place. Yes, it is small, but how many venues allow you meet and greet with the artists before and after they perform?? My friends and I were ordering a couple drinks at the bar and over came the guitarist from the opening band an he bought us a round of shots! Doesn't happen every day.

As a San Francisco native, I find that calling this place the San Francisco Saloon is a bit of a stretch. I have compiled the following list of similarities between this saloon and the city of San Francisco; as you can see, some of the links are tenuous at best: 1. The San Francisco Saloon has a framed copy of the San Francisco Examiner. In San Francisco, people have been known to read this very same periodical. 2. The San Francisco Saloon has one of those neon beer signs that has the shape of the Golden Gate Bridge on it. Little known fact: The Golden Gate Bridge is, in fact, in San Francisco. 3. The San Francisco Saloon shows sports games featuring teams that play in or around San Francisco. In the same vein, people from San Francisco have been known to support their local sports teams. 4. The San Francisco Saloon serves food that is way too good to be bar food. San Francisco, similarly, has amazing food. That's about all I could think of. To be fair to the Saloon, having never been to an actual saloon in San Francisco, I may be missing the most obvious thing; for example, perhaps the ambiance in the San Francisco Saloon is perfectly tuned to the ambiance of real saloons in San Francisco. But I digress. Whether the name is justified or not, this place is pretty awesome. If you go hungry, you will be well fed. If you go there thirsty, you will find them well equipped to quench your thirst. I can't guarantee that everyone will know your name, or that they will even be glad that you came, but they will certainly be polite to you, and I'm sure you will have, at the very least, a extremely pleasant evening.
