Well.....you never know what can happen at Cosmo/Lava Lounge. Overall it is a nice lounge...great Apple Martini's (although they have started to add cinnamon to the apple martinis, which if you don't care for it...tell them before they make your drink). The music is great for dancing downstairs. Upstairs is more loungy type with some music, but i didn't find it fun....until I went downstairs on the Lava side. The staff is nice and the bartenders are generous with their alcohol.....great place to hang out.

I'm never disappointed when I go to Mezzanine. I love the space, they have some great shows & DJs that come through, and the crowd is always pretty cool. However, I shutter at the thought of seeing DJ AM there again. My girlfriends and I usually do go as our little tradition of seeing AM there has been going on for a few years......but, no more. It is such a "scene" when he plays. All of the little LA Slut wanna-bees come out from the Marina and act a total fool. I once was in the ladies room and watched this girl treat her trip from the stall to the sink like it was her own personal runway! WTF??? All I could do was laugh.....and she saw me, then proceeded to shoot me an "I hate you" look. Anyways, the only reason I didn't give Mezzanine the 5th star is because I have been a few times when the sound system was crap. I went on Halloween night (free party by the way), and they had a combination of bands & DJs. The speakers where going in and out, sound shifting from the front to the back of the space. Dreadful. All in all, a great venue. Avoid DJ AM nights though......if you have never been for DJ AM, go once for the experience, and don't go again.
