by vivian t. on Saturday night, we decided to hit the clubs randomly. We had a nice group of maybe 16 people? The "door man" was rude to our group. One guy working the guestlist was telling us to move to one line bc we were on the list.. and then the other guy later comes to us and tells us we need to move to another line all the way in the back. After wasting precious time jumping from lines, we just stood there debating whether or not we wanted to go in here or somewhere else. Somehow an argument was worked up, me and my drunk friends vs "the door man".. I don't remember much other than us telling him that we can stand wherever we want, its a free country and that hes trying to pull power trip on us because he's the "door man". :P yes very mature right? hahaha We ended up not going there and hopped around before we came back later in the night. Us girls got in free even though it was past the guest list time.. our ratio was 8:8. Guys paid $10 cover? which isn't bad...It was asian night bc all the promoters were asian.. I'm the type who prefers having a more diverse group. My friend's brother is promoting here this weekend and I heard it's suppose to be more diverse. The venue: This is one of the nicer clubs i've been to. two stories and spacious. Drinks were pricey, I bought 2 AMFs for $28 before tip. Music was nice, mainstream with a little old school thrown in here and there. The best part is that it's opened until 3am! most clubs close at 2.
by Bobbie Lournes on THE WORST I EVER BEEN TREATED AT A CLUB! Bimbo's basically stole my money. I waited three hours in line outside this place to see Edward Sharp, when my friends and I finally made it to the ticket booth we were so excited. We paid for three tickets and the woman at the window only gave us two. We realized this seconds later as we tried to enter, did a 180 and the woman denied that she made a mistake. My friends and I spent the next hour talking to various security guards and management, only to be told the most they could do was sell me ANOTHER ticket and check the drawer at the end of the night for discrepancies, which judging by the way they treated us, they would most likely cover up to save face. My friends got their tickets refunded and we left. The staff here, besides one security guard, who was helpful but powerless, are extremely rude and apparently have no concept of customer service. This incident really made me sad. I will never go back.
by Gonzalo Brakhage on I am shocked to see all of the negative reviews for Voyage Ultra Lounge. Sure I was only inside for 30-45 minutes, but it seemed like a decent spot to me. The club was pretty spacious, with two bars and a side lounge area. The crowd was just like any other club - meat-heads and cheesy girls, with some normal people thrown in. Also, you have to like house music to really enjoy your time here. To me, this was just your average club, nothing special but certainly not horrible.
