by J. V. on This place has been around since 1965, and it's got some good things going for it. Easy parking in a marginal location, OK drinks, and the food is downright good. The tacos are just OK, but the real shining star here is the chile relleno, very, very good. Tastes fresh, not like some of those Mex places where the egg coating around the pepper tastes old. The sauce that accompanies it is great too, and the beans are yummy, a cross between refried and "frijoles de olla". The loud salsa music playing is kind of a pain in the ass (and ears), but the food is good, the service is courteous, and if you're in the neighborhood and craving a good chile relleno, look no further. I suspect this is the kind of place that if you came in 3 or 4 times, they'd remember you.
by Karon Schmid on This place is horrible. I have been to Sugar for both coffee/breakfast and wine/food and the service was RUDE and UNHELPFUL! The coffee is HORRIBLE, I have tried just coffee and lattes and it has been the worst I have ever had...each time! I tried to give this place a chance but even if the drinks and food were good (which it is not) the staff is amongst the rudest I have encountered. It is too bad that a place with such style only consistently offers only horrible service and bad meal/drink options. I am being nice here...I wont describe in detail my times there...!
by Georgia Weber on Yeah this place is ghetto....real ghetto not fun ghetto...It is not fun to shop. I got grabbed by a drunk homeless person but that is not even scary though. I dont like the shops either. I just went in to get out of the damn rain. The gallery is not well set up either. I just found myself wanting to get out of here quick. The crowds suck....like rude ass people.
