Once again, a restaurant/club, which I've never gone to eat before. I've been here twice and for me, I had a good time both times, but mostly due to the company that I'm with. Since they have to convert the restaurant to a club, it can take some time before you can actually get into the place. The cover is $20 here, which I think is absurd for this place, but luckily I was on the guestlist each time I was here, so as long as you get there before 10:30PM then it's all good. But there could be some delays for the club to open, so getting there earlier is the best way to go. When I first went here, only the top floor (out of 3) was a club. But the second time I went, all 3 floors opened up for dancing and drinking. Each floor though isn't very open spaced, so it gets crowded fast and you'll be bumping sweaty shoulders with sweaty shoulders constantly. The drinks there are the usual prices for cocktails (~$8) and they mix them well; they give you a decent amount to drink compared to other places I've been to. The music can be a mixed bag, where the first time I went, it was all hip hop all night, while the second time I went it was still mostly hip hop (at least on the top floor), but they appended in some random songs in the middle that kind of threw people off. The bottom floor (where the bathroom is) played a lot of electonic music, so a little something for most people.

A gorgeous venue with lots of space to spare, great acoustics, awesome lighting, world class DJs have recorded albums based on their sets here, and it gets a variety of solid talent. Tenaglia. Sasha. John Digweed. Corsten. Tiesto. Dimitri from Paris. Steve Lawler. Carl Cox. Undoubtedly, Ruby Skye is one of the most aesthetically pleasing venues I've every seen in the country. Too bad it's all wasted on the clientele. Ladies, guard your triceps upon entering; they'll be bruised upon your departure. A Shark Tank if there every was one, Ruby Skye's ambience is like seeing festering boils on the face of the most gorgeous supermodel you've ever encountered.
