by Hamed M. on $15 cover charge?! ...for this place?! They really shouldn't charge cover here. It's a crappy place. They take credit card, but with a $20 minimum. Good thing the drinks are super expensive, because it'll only take 1.25 drinks to hit that mark. Yet, they'll take your credit card for the $15 cover charge, without meeting the $20 minimum. Go figure.
by Nina Caimi on Nice place. So much nicer than previously when it was duplex. But I hate to say it but I feel like this place tests it's limit by being the smallest bar/club place ever. Literally just trying to squish your way around and you can't hear yourself think. I gave it 4 stars bc I got to drink and had fun regardless but if I were sober I would feel so claustrophobic. And they had clean bathrooms!!
by Calista Bowle on Using my G&T rating principles, I was very pleased. The drink was $5, in a 10oz'ish glass and had enough G to give me a small pucker. Nice 3 (scale of 1-3). I went for a listen to Sub Swara on 18Dec08 and found it easy to come early and sit by myself. Another woman was dancing alone in the pre sets and seemed totally cas as well. The music was mostly dubsteb and drew in dreadies and folks in anti pastel colored clothing. The sound system is solid, loved the three screens showing anime and the bartenders were very friendly. There is ample seating and places to stow your jacket while you are boogying. It is small over all but this just gives you the sense of really connecting with people. The photo booth is really fun and cool. It is known as a Burner hangout and that amps up the alt feel. Nice to have a lower cost option in SOMA.
