I went to go see my crush Peaches and was suprised by my surroundings. The place was lit very dimly and it had a goth feel. I thought I was going to get my blood sucked out by some vampires. At the bar they told me that they don't do open bar and that they would charge $150 for that. Sounds like some bull to me but oh well. As usual Peaches brought down the house and I was left sweating and legs hurting from standing the entire time. It is a pretty big place as they have a night club also.

I've only attended one concert here and that was Bright Eyes a couple years ago. Excellent acoustics and the seating wasn't so bad either. There didn't appear to be any "general admission" seating in front as there is at the Wiltern but I could be mistaken. I don't see a lot of acts play the Orpheum and I'm not sure why. It seems to be in between the Wiltern and a smaller venue such as the Troubadour or even the El Rey. The other interesting part of the theatre was the bar area down below. It has a very nice little fireplace area that makes you feel as if you are sitting in the living room of a Christmas card from the turn of the century. Drinks were fairly expensive as you would expect at a venue but they aren't nearly as bad as most places in LA. Parking isn't that big of a problem as there are a number of lots that open up all around. This is in the middle of downtown so there is no one there except other concert goers and homeless people so you really don't have to fight for parking. The homeless people in the area are generally harmless but you are walking near skid row so it's still probably best to go in a group if possible if you are walking from a hotel in the area. (such as the Standard which is within walking distance.)
