So I finally came to Third Floor Cafe. This is one of the hotspots that my male friends and Korean coworkers frequent and rave about. Their reasons to go are primarily due to eyecandy hostesses and cute waitresses. Honestly, I didn't see the big deal when I went on Saturday night, so I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Indeed. Anyways, everyday from 5-8 pm, there is a special of 6 beers + one choice of anju (appetizers) which is perfect for sharing in a group of 2-4 pple for $35. I guess it's a pretty fair market deal. We got the fried chicken which was pretty good, and we ordered dinner which comes with one free drink, turned out to be OK. The octopus fried rice turned out to be pretty spicy for me, and I am a bit wary to stomach spicy food since I usually feel sick afterwards. My friends had the kimchi fried rice and pork dongkatsu. The latter was actually quite tasty. Since my friend is a regular (he literally lives in K-town), we got a complimentary platter of fruits, so I was pretty pleased to scarf those down after barely touching my spicy food. Service was very accommodating, and the setup of the place is comfortable and nicely set up for checking out the crowd. This is a perfect place to come for drinks before late dinner or drinks after dinner. I am told that there is a happening crowd on Thursday nights, so hopefully, I'll return soon to experience Third Floor at its prime.

I visited this new meatpacking spot a few weeks ago for Jordi Scott's Pre-Release Party - great times with good people and a lovely open bar. It's very much your typical meatpacking loungey/club with tons of seating, dimly lit, yet yet kinda posh. I loved the huge blown up photos that plastered the wall by the DJ booth. One of my favorite DJs, DJ Brandon from Fatbaby was spinning, so he was able to work in a few requests which got the dance party started. Since this was an event, I'm not so sure how indicative of a typical Retox night this was, but the venue is cool - make sure you check out the bathrooms in the basement. I'm still trying to figure out why it's called a "Rock Bar."
