by Jade C. on By far this is one of my favorite spots in Hollywood and I don't say that often either. It's right next door to the Cabana Club (which I am not a fan of!) -- and it's tuck away like it's a secret joint. Parking -- Across the street, the parking for the Arclight Hollywood is always cool to park at, however, once the club ends and everyone wants to get out the line to get out the lot is ridiculous!!! The alternative is street parking if you can find any and if you are confident that your car won't get jacked, smashed, towed or what have you. Getting in -- Short and quick line but you'll pay $20 for cover regardless if you are a female or male (minus points) AND especially if you aren't on the guest list. The Layout -- When you walk in to the right there's a hallway looking space with couches where I suppose all the smokers hang out and a DJ spinning some electronica/house tunes. If you walk straight ahead, you'll be entering the main room -- decked out in Victorian/Old English style motif! BE CAREFUL THOUGH -- it's HELLA DARK and the furniture blends in! So, watch where you are going. If you walk further back, there's the big bar -- it's Hollywood so drink prices are expensive but it's pretty stiff too! So, I guess I get my money's worth =) Friday nights -- the DJ plays your Top 40 sounds as well as some hip-hop beats and definitely gets the party crowd going. The crowd is mix and surprisingly I haven't witnessed any EGOs going crazy!!! And for being Hollywood this is a blessing! Have fun! =)
by Joan Barch on The panna cotta here is to die for. Otherwise -- the food is a mixed bag. It's a bit expensive, but really what you pay for is a nice chill restaurant with good drinks and great live music. Even the Coffee Crusted Pork Loin ended up being kind of meh, despite all the recommendations. The music here tho is excellent, just make sure you get yourself a good table.
by Abdul Odess on I have been here 2x. Once was for lunch. I had read a few reviews about this place and decided to try out a few appetizers. Calamari and some type of house made chips/nachos.... Neither were really good. Service was decent. As I was leaving I saw some scantily clad women which I figured were the waitresses that everyone raves about. Honestly, for me places like Hooters and Tavern...or any place that parades women its honestly a distraction if theres good food around. I dont need all that. You can give me a fat lady with a goatee as long as the food is good. Unfortunately, here its just not. Very cool bartenders though, and it stays open late if you need to catch a quick drink..
