First and last time that I ever go to this place. I was here last Fri to support my friend who was gonna dj there. I went with 3 other guys and 6 girls. We were told everyone would be free before 12. Just as we're standing outside waiting to have our ids checked, I see my friends in front of me walk up so I naturally follow, and the 7'9 bouncers pokes me in the shoulder to stop me. I'm 5'0 130lbs, and this guys poke feels much more painful than a normal person's. I said very calmly and low, "Whoa! No need to touch". Big man loses his shit and says to me, "Ok! Just for that you're not coming in. Good night." I say."OK" and leave the line, and my friend eventually begged the guy to let me. I could have cared less, but we were a big group. Anyway, once in, we're told it's a $10 cover. It's 10:30. So we spoke up and said we were told it'd be free, and the girls at the door say, "Oh yeah, thats right." COME ON! Don't play with ppl like that! I bet they fooled others on line. Once inside, tthe place looks nothing like it does in pictures, and the crowd was incredibly pretentious for such a small whole in the wall venue. Never coming back here again.

I went to Bruno's on Saturday night. A friend recommended the Pineapple- Lychee Martini. That drink was amazingly tasty and super smooth and refreshing. The music was pretty good and there was a good vibe from the crowd on the dancefloor.

This is one of my neighborhood haunts. The gorgeous interior is massive, yet cozy at the same time. The food is consistent and good. They have a large selection of beers, albeit somewhat heavier drafts (I miss the cider). Oysters are fantastic, as is most of the seafood...I've never had a "smelly" bite. Some of my regular rotation: all the taco combos, seafood baskets, spinach salad, chicken fingers (they are hand-cut, battered in-house and tennnnder, crispy goodness!), hamburger, rat toes and buffalo shrimp/oysters/chicken bites. They used to have a killer turkey sandwich, but it has been removed from the menu. The only irritant for me is the lackluster wait staff and barkeeps - I don't need to be entertained, but they seem to get in the weeds much too often and ignore my empty glass.
