I went to the Frying Pan on my very first half-day Friday at work for the summer with a few coworkers. The location is what really sells this place... You are practically at the pier next to Chelsea Piers on a floating barge! On the beautiful *sarcasm* Hudson River! Poor river... So much litter. Oh well. On site of the FP there is a bar and a cooking area... but you order your food at the bar then have to wait for your number to be called at the cooking area. Or something like that. I got confused in my tipsy state. From the bar, I ordered myself a blueberry ale (I love blueberry beers in the summer!!!) and a cheese burger. The cheese burger was definitely overpriced at $10.00... actually it might have been more than that.. like $12... since I think adding a slice of (I presumed it was) Kraft cheese was 2 bucks. Boooo. If a burger is going to be in that cost range, it better be up to Five Napkin quality! I couldn't even order it to my preferred preparation... medium rare. In hindsight I should have canceled my order but being on that floating dock with the wind in my hair and my (second) blueberry beer in my hand just made me hunnngrrryyy. I would go back with friends in the future to share a bucket of Coronas... but I think I will be more wary of the food I order this time.

Do not.. I REPEAT... DO NOT go on the SLIDE!!! I came here a few times, and I never learn my LESSON. YES.. it's tempting, especially when you have a few drinks in you, but I highly recommend taking the stairs instead. First of all, you have to take off your shoes (not cute). Being ambitious with no shame, I immediately took off my boots and slid down. If you don't keep your balance your butt WILL hit the floor!!! :) Luckily, I didn't have to go through that embarrassment. However, I did wake up the next day with a few bruises on my elbow. EPIC FAIL!!! If you MUST take the slide down, remember to keep all limbs close to the body. Other then the slide, I would definitely try this place again. Great music with a diverse good looking crowd. Make sure you have at least a 1:1 ratio, otherwise, you would need bottle service. I guess that's good news for everyone, because no one likes a sausage fest :)

Wednesday night, I think I may have eaten the best meal of my life at the Woodfire Grill..here in Atlanta, off Chesire Bridge Road. Yes, I know the neighborhood is the red light district but Chef Kevin Gillespie of Bravo's Top Chef fame has created a menu that is simply Amazing. Piper and I chose the five course tasting menu which included courses of mushrooms, a seared scallop, pork belly and quail, and a venison, along with I hadessert. The pork belly was hands down my favorite. I can't stop talking about how good it was. In fact, I have made reservations for my birthday in February. Some things to know about woodfire. They do not seat before your reservation time, so show up on time. Also, it is a bit pricey but well worth it.
