by Michelle C. on I really wanted to like Le Club, but the vibe was just a little weird. The experience started off well - the decor is posh and elegant and the pool table is a fun addition. But, we had an 8PM reservation and when we arrived, we were the ONLY people there other than the servers/bartenders. A little bizarre. As the evening progressed, other people came to the bar area for cocktails, but we remained the ONLY party there for dinner, as far as we could tell. Food was decent. I thought the appetizers were much better than the main course, although their desserts were good. Creme brulee was quite good. The cocktail menu is fun and mine was great. However, near the end of dinner, one of our party got suddenly ill - not food poisoning, but dizzy and nauseous that went away in a few hours. We don't know if something weird was in the drink, but it was very bizarre and a little alarming. Service was good. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. This place has a lot of potential - I don't know if it needs to increase its presence or it was just the circumstances of the economy, but it was very strange having the place to ourselves when we hadn't actually rented out the place!

We were hoping to be seated in the room with the DJ so we could people watch and poke fun at all the dance-partiers, but we ended up getting our own little spot to the right of the entrance when you walk in. The service was great, the food was ok, and the drinks were delish. We ate and drank all we could before moving on to the next bar... That was the only time I'd been there for dinner; the other times, just for drinks. I'd go back, but only if we got another group together!
