by Adam B. on Eh, I was really trashed when I arrived on a Satruday night. I'm not a fan of the bars in the castro but this place is ok. The place is small and the crowd was heavy. Lots of people and not enough space. My friends and I went upstairs but the only benefit was that it had less of a crowd. No bar upstairs so you have to find the chick and see if she can get drinks back to you before closing. I felt bad for her so I did not drink there but drank plenty the rest of the evening. I did not get the vibe of the bar. It's kind of funny to present an "upscale" bar in the castro. I did shake my ass so much that I was sore the next day so I give them the benefit for decent music when I was there, although I can' t really remember what was playing.
by Glen Noguchi on Went here for the first time a week ago to see Clark Terry Quintet.. Phenomenal! We got there, waited in line, and like a good 20 people back? Sat in the front row. This place is AMAZING. Stantawn Kendrick, the sax guy? Brilliant... Drinks not bad at all either... Service great, atmosphere great, acoustics, etc (small tiny place) amazing... I'm not really all that into Jazz, either, but I will most definitely return. Was a great experience, a Must Do if you're into live music of any sort.
