by Maribel V. on The place was really cool, not too small and not too big. We got there early so avoided the 10 dollar cover charge. After 1030ish it started getting packed but since we got there early we had seats by the stage. We went on a Friday so they had the girls on stage that was pretty entertaining, and I loved the music, it was an awesome night. The bartenders were good and they didn't stiff you on the alcohol the drinks were pretty strong. The only thing is that the parking next to the bar is 10 dollars and its considered "valet" but the cars are jammed in a small parking lot 5 feet away from the entrance!

There are a lot of things that brought me to this point, and I am going to share them with you and let you decide if they are the same things you look for in a venue. If you agree then head on down here and see a show or two........ This place has a fantastic ceiling. It is not the Sistine Chapel but it is ornate and old and beautiful. If the opening band sucks just look up and stare at the ceiling for a while. They will suddenly sound better. The sound system is great. My #1 complaint with some of the venues in this city is that the sound system is awful, or the acoustics of the room don't work or the senior sound tech is on crack. None are true here, plus they will let the bands sound tech take the board, which some places won't. It is nice to hear "Five dollars please" when ordering a beer at a show. That is all I need to say about that. It is great to have so many pre/post show dive bars in the neighborhood. It means that whichever one you pick will not be so packed you can't move. Yay!!! This place books bands I like. In case you didn't know, this is important. No one wants to go to a place where Tiffany is playing her mall reunion tour, when even the malls wont book her anymore. You can get food here. I am not much for eating at a show so I cant speak to the quality, but it is available just in case. I have seen some great bands, with great friends and had great times at this place. I know that the overall experience can lend to your perception of a place. All of my experiences here have been fantastic. I hope you are all as lucky!
