by Melody L. on One of the nicer going out spots in the city in my opinion so I decided to celebrate my birthday here. Reasons why I chose this place: - Spaciousness: Has 2 floors that play different music. Upstairs is hip-hop mashup and downstairs is house. The entire place is open space, where the VIP area and dance floor are not sectioned off, which makes the whole place look a lot more inviting and spacious - Music: whether hip-hop or house, the DJs play a great selection of songs with smooth transitions - Nice decor: The place is relatively new looking and gives off a posh vibe - Clean (relatively) bathroom: I know club bathrooms can't be THAT clean but this place does a good job at maintaining the cleanliness. The bathroom is also spacious so you don't feel claustrophobic with 20+ girls waiting in line. Also props to having a large, full-body mirror! - Good crowd: Diverse crowd where everybody looks decently put-together Cons: - With bottle service (minimum of ~$225) you can only get 5 people on the VIP list :( I asked if I could accommodate more people but guess there was no way around it. Wished they would be more generous with the guestlist - About half an hour before the guestlist closes, they start holding up the line where they let in a group of people and wait 5 minutes before they let the next group in, but this seems to be a problem with most nicer clubs in SF (e.g. Infusion) Getting in is not an easy task, but once inside, I always enjoy myself here. This is one of the place that I would take friends visiting from out-of-town for a glimpse of SF nightlife, instead of some other seedier places which shall remain unnamed :)

Every time I visit the wrought iron patio of this swank open gourmet Mexican restaurant in the heart of (literally the center of attention) Atlantic Station, I leave with a belly the size of the Rio Grande. Everyone here is young and attractive, and they probably have the wallet to support this Atlantic Station lifestyle of condo living and weekday shopping and gourmet dinning. If you can't wait for a table outside, the waiter will weave you through the square dinning hall filled with tightly packed tables and booths. If you are starving, order the fresh table made guacamole - and specify how spicy you want it. Actually, everything is spicy here, so better to ask them to tone it down a notch or two if you know your buds are sensitive. So next time you are looking to be in the center of life, spend an evening dinning at Rosa Mexicano.
