by Mrs. G. on Picking a nightlife spot is all about personal preference so I could see how some people would hate or love Vertigo. I lived in Miami for 10 years so I am DONE with the velvet rope and uptight people wearing sunglasses at night. I seek freedom, chaos and good music. Vertigo delivered. No cover, $5 sangrias, $3 jello shots, interesting crowd - probably the friendliest I have encountered to date, and GREAT music. Not too keen on the smoking room. The stench got into the dance floor and I got home smelling like I spent the night with the Malboro man. Also, bring cashoola cause they don't take credit cards. There is an ATM inside. Other than that, a new favorite.
by Jack Klusman on I went right after they opened up, when it was still pretty empty. I was horribly horribly disappointed. Granted it was probably mostly the waiter, but the waiter has a big impact on how I view restaurants. We were seated immediately and our order was taken within a relatively decent amount of time. The guacamole was quite tasty. Then we finished that. And waited for an hour. Only about once in that hour did our waiter refill our glasses or apologize for the wait. Most of the time we saw him just standing around doing absolutely nothing. Our food finally comes out but too bad it wasn't what we had ordered. I'm sure I could've complained and possibly not had to pay or something but that still wouldn't have made this a positive review. Any place that has just opened should strive to impress people and I was about as far from being impressed as I could be. Maybe it's taken a turn for the better, but I will never return.
