by tabisky c. on We had an early dinner at the restaurant and then attended Vienna Teng and Alex Wong's concert at the jazz club. The service at the restaurant was excellent. We had a huge meal since our reservation was at 5:00 p.m. and the show did not start till 7:00 (actually it started at 7:25). I do not quite understand why we could not make a reservation between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. as the place can accommodate a large number of customers. The two of us feasted on beef sushi, maguro/hamachi/hotate sushi, pork belly, gindara black cod and a roll of crispy spicy hamachi. All had strong (in a good sense) flavors except for the nigiri sushi. The show was entertaining and the acoustics were great. I am glad that one chair in front of me was not occupied (even though there was a name on it); otherwise it would have been near impossible to move. They sure pack them in! I was amazed how the staff moved in the jazz club. They served drinks/food without any incidents. When we left, there was live music at the lounge. This place keeps hopping! We parked at the garage nearby and paid $7 for five hours of parking. All in all, a different experience from life in the burbs.
by Antonio Dopson on This place has great service. made me feel free and happy to ask questions about their different sandwiches and soups. The new england clam chowder in the sourdough breadbowl? sooo good. however it's not the best ... mainly because it wasn't served hot enough! it was only slightly warm. but it tasted just great! the sandwiches are at best, decent, especially for such a high price. I think one should stick to the baked goods and soups etc.
