by Phuong Tetu on So I went here at 10 Pm on a sunday Night and I gotta say, They have beer, some of which is decent, much of which is shitty ass, but they have beer in North Austin on Sunday night. They also have food on sunday night, decent respectable bar food in very generous portions. The service was a tad odd. Our waitsperson was perfectly nice and accomodating, but had no clue as to which of the 25 beers were on tap. it turns out that they do differetiate between Coors and Coors Light and among all the varieties of bud and miller. Sadly nothing local was on tap, no Live Oak, no Real Ale, no Independance not even lone star. They did however have some other respectable microbrews, so it wasn't a complete wash. Their food menu was a tad confusing and corporate. You could have fish and chips but only before 10 pm. You could have burger and chips after 10 PM, but if you wantred fish uyou couldn't get chips. When they ask how you want your burger you have to wonder if they are joking or not. My advisor (who was indeed working with me at 10 pm on sunday) asked for grilled rather than raw onions and they said they were happy to accomodate this request, however they didn't actually do so. The burger was still pretty good, though a bit overpowered with mustard. Anyway a few minutes later the manager comes out apologizing profusely for the lack of grilled onions, and in the end it warmed my heart to see this gesture. We told the nice fellow that the burger was fine despite this indescression and that we were happy with the meal over all. So to sum it up, they have good happy hour beer, and lots more shitty ass happy hour beer but all at good prices. Food is allright and generally in large portions. The buffalo wings are bursting with flavor and numerous. There is obviosuly soem corporate bureaucracy which keeps the place making money, but somehow puts another wall between the producer and consumer, further restrictign that perfect communication that would otherwise result in true dining excellence. They WILL be open when other places in the neighborhood are not and the WILL have BEER when other places in the neighbohood do not. For all of this I give them three stars, almost four.
by John T. on Fun to do once! I must say some of the other reviews are a bit harsh. If you are looking for some off-kilter fun and you are a tourist in town, give this place a try. We went with about 20 other people in town for a conference and we tore this place up.
