A great place to catch a show, and as was mentioned, you can always head downstairs if the music upstairs sucks. Word of warning: there something marked "CHEAP STUFF" on tap. Don't drink it. Ever. It was probably once PBR, but I think somewhere along the way, Star Bar protocol required adding a 10% strychnine solution.

A movie poster on the wall best described Bruno's on a Saturday night: "It makes the old young and the young scream when these song-belting stars and frug-frantic dolls get together in one big wig-flipping howl of a jamboree." (The poster was for a movie entitled, "When the boys meet the girls" starring of all people Liberace, Connie Francis, and Herman's Hermits, among others.) I have no idea what to rate this place. The drinks I had were great, but at that point of the night (fourth and final bar of the evening) who knows what that means? The multiple bars was a plus- I didn't have to wait long for a drink. At one point, my friend leaned over to me and said, "There certainly is a lot of skanky trash here." And then sure enough one tapped him on the shoulder, wanting a picture of her and her bffs for posterity. He obliged, though I had to walk away to keep from dying laughing. It probably wasn't that funny come to think of it but I guess something about the place made everything really funny. And not everyone was skanky trash- there was just more than the typical bars I frequent (save those in Palo Alto... or Ann Arbor... actually it reminded me of what a bar in Ann Arbor would be like if it just did everything right). The bar was crowded, and full of what I've been told are "Marina" types. The music was loud but I was pretty into it, all things considered (I also love gay clubs so I'm not saying my taste is amazing in any sort of hip sense). A lot of it was a blur, but yet, it was by far the most memorable part of the night. And I have a lot to say for something being hilarious and memorable, even if it wasn't my favorite bar of all time. So somehow, I have to give it 5 stars- but if you don't like loud and crowded, or you can't take quite so much of the absurdity of the spectacle.. I'd avoid it. I may well be going back. But only when I'm already pretty drunk- that seems to be the best way to appreciate its splendor. So, grab your beers and your frat brothers and clink those bottles together, ending it all with a resounding "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I'll be there to cheer you on.
