by karen l. on This place is getting 5 Stars solely for their fish tacos. I came her for a friends event and she ordered fish tacos and sliders. I didn't like the sliders but LOVED the fish tacos! I usually hate the food at clubs and don't think food should mix with club venues but damn these fish tacos are good. The fish tacos remind me of my fav. fish taco place in Newport. This has been the closes thing to it that I found in SF and I've been on a search for it too. Strangely to say.... Roe in my opinion has the best fish tacos in SF.

One of my college friends happen to be in LA for the weekend and was staying about 2 miles away, so she comes along to meet with the rest of my party. There was an open bar between 1030-11pm for well drinks or something like that. We stay at the bar until the open starts, attempting to drink like the college days. Ha. My advice, if you want an Asian Invasion club on a Friday night, go here, but if not I suggest you go elsewhere. My party and I came here because we knew one of the promoters so we didn't have to pay cover. So I guess that's not that bad.
by Jewel Glassburn on The Kress....where do I begin? The space is much too large for a club in LA. If we were in NY or Europe, it would probably fill up. But we're in LA, and a Costco Warehouse size club just doesn't work. This place is also not what it pretends to be. It lacks ambiance. The drinks are so expensive which is usually fine for me if the place is cool. But this place is sort of boring. I actually had a good time because I did not purchase any alcohol for myself and I was more drunk there than ever both times I went there (on Halloween and for an Ad Industry Christmas party). However I would not suggest this to friends or brag about it by any means. The best thing about this place is the rooftop. There's a beautiful view of the city. That's the only positive thing about The Kress. Oh yeah, and the music is a year old top 40's...kind of lame for being in "Hollywood."
