by carla m. on Saturday 05/16 was my first time coming out to the Green Door lounge. Also I would have to say my last. We got in for free b/c one of my friends is a promoter for friction. Here is my breakdown of how our night went. THE GOOD: Found the venue, parked near the elevator, got there by 1030pm, waited in line for less then 10 min, and got in for free. THE BAD: Most seats were for vip bottle service only, spent $24 bucks for both of our drinks and I didn't even taste the alcohol in my drink, the scene, the music mix, small dance floor, dim lighting-no strobe lights or lighting effects, people would just hang around their groups and not mingle w/different people, not that friendly, some girls were overly dressed and some were just sloppy, and crowded for what night that was, left after an hour an a half-b/c I was worried I might need to pee again and didn't want to put myself through the long ass line and flooded floor. THE UGLY: Floors were flooded w/ God knows what kind of water that may be-coming from the kitchen and toilets-GROSS!, only 2 stalls in girls restroom then one eventually broke, long ass wait for the girls restroom, one girl throwing up in a trash bag inside the restroom instead of in a trash can or toilet, walking on the flooded wet carpet felt Gross, water got on my shoes-sucks cuz i wore open toe shoes, almost slipped, no ventilation, the smell of the venue, girls wanting to cut other girls b/c their friends needed to pee bad-"Too bad, just have to wait like everyone else", even after leaving the venue there were people still lined up waiting to get in, if only they knew what was going on inside, should have warned them, but we just wanted to get the heck out of there. Also the people running the place shouldn't have allowed more people to get in, Payed $8 bucks for our parking ticket, forgot to get our ticket validated! Shucks-got side tracked from the flooded floors! Overall thoughts about this place-First and Last time you'll ever see me there!!! Not worth it, I'm so over the Hollywood scene, it's time for a change! Haha prolly was there when Jessyca L and Linda N, was there, was not a pretty sight for that night!
by Eusebio Wlodarczyk on Ever since I moved to NYC, I have been really disappointed by the music scene. You would figure we would have the best of the best and people would really appreciate it. I find this in parallel to the food culture here and how it is completely mediocre. To my dismay, most clubs/lounges in NYC consist of B&T-ers infiltrating our city. I can't say they add any value to the scene considering their soulless auras. The music here at Cielo really made me happy since it reminded me of the great Chicago house prevalent back home. Only difference is, the people here only care about networking and looking cool, so your outcome is pretty lame. Looking around, my friends and I are one of the only few on the floor who can dance to the beat and really appreciate the music. Sure, there are those people who really try, imagine shuffling of feet while dancing completely off beat. The crowd might be pretentious, but I can truly say their sound system and house music blows other places in NYC away.
