So when I visited Mel in Philly, we decided to try Morimoto on a whim. Since it was 2:00 pm on a Tuesday, we had no problems getting seated. The entire place was pretty empty as they were about to close after lunch, but we still had fantastic service. I had a lunch sushi sampler, where the sushi chef chose some delectable fish (based on some preferences that our waiter ascertained). Mel had the fish (?) on river stone bowl. It was out of this world. I can't say that the sushi is the very best I've ever had, it's pretty good, but for the price and the hype, I'd kinda expected a little more. I'm sure had we gone on a busier evening, the sushi would be also be out of this world, but there's a trade off with the longer wait and higher prices... not sure it's worth it for me. It's a great experience - but I'm in downtown Philly so rarely that I'd rather just head to Bonjung (my Collegeville default).
