by Dona Scibilia on Don't make it to the Varsity often, but when the family came into town and we needed a very kid-friendly, quintessentially Atlantan place to eat, the Varsity was perfect. Lots of families, kids' sports teams, tourists, and such. The food is exactly what I remember - mediocre burgers and dogs, greasy fries, kickass fountain drinks, and delicious Frosted Oranges (think orange creamsicle in drinkable form). We ate inside as we always do, but I do think I'll have to try the famous drive up one day. You get awesome hats, get to hear them yell WHAT'LL YA HAVE!, and get to enjoy one of Atlanta's greatest and greasiest institutions. Nothing ever changes here, so I am pretty sure when I come back in a few years it will be exactly the same. Love that about the place.
by Tim W. on Whatta ya have?! Whatta ya have?! Everything Damn It! Now quite yelling at me! The Varsity is so good. We went twice while in Atlanta. My daughter and I both had the bacon double cheeseburger. The burgers are really good and really small! I had fries and she had onion rings. The fries are so good it doesn't make sense! My wife had a chili slaw hot dog and onion rings. Oh and the fried peach pies are to die for! If only I had some ice cream to put on top! I could eat there once a day no problem! What is in Atlanta Coke? That stuff is addictive as hell!
by Jesica Burt on If you want celeb sightings, go here. Just don't forget to look tragically hip and bring a sugar daddy. This place is expensive. Although its not that cool inside (pretty small, mediocre decor) the music is good and the people are super fancy. My honest opinion is that you should go in once, enjoy the celeb sightings, and then go hang out with your best friends somewhere where you can blackout and dance without feeling like everyone is staring at you and thinking "her outfit looks like its from forever 21" Oh and btw, its nearly impossible to get into.
