by Nina B. on Nothing like earning your "I'm on a Boat" badge on Foursquare when you least expect it. This place was packed on a weekday after hours. But despite it being a boat, it's really large, with multiple floors for seating and standing around. The bar service is fast, which is good when you're dealing with hundreds of customers flowing in and out of your place. A beautiful place to hang out on a sunny day. Not many options in NYC to get a waterfront view without having to pay a premium for it.
by Alysa Violet on When you walk in and immediately smell overflowed toilet, you know that you entered the one and only Oscars. Although this place truly defines a dive bar, two long islands the size of big gulps @ $7 each (I believe that is what they cost) is an amazing deal. Waitresses are not attentive nor pleasant, but they deal with some rather interesting characters all day and evening. Go to Oscars when you are too exhausted to fight for a seat and too broke to drink at all. Warning: Order food at your own risk.
