by Lorene Behrle on We prepared for weeks for a big night out since Anand R. was visiting from New York. A big time fella needs a big time venue and we decided on Vessel. I'll disclose that I am no expert on lounges and somtimes have a "hang up" about them, but I was in for an adventure. The layout was outright cool with tables that were used as stages which our host was dancing on throughout the night. The crowd itself was pretty tight and less snooty than the NYC scene - sorry Anand R.! They were pretty good with the bottle service - attentive to our ice and mixer needs - and they were good with mixing us drinks when we needed it and laying off when we made our own blends. Our group had an awesome time and I know our guest from NYC was able to give SF props for this place. The one thing that robs it from the fifth star is the over-agressive bouncers that wouldn't hear me out when I told them that I had a table and I dropped off my group as I parked the ride. Get that straight and folks will have a better all-around time.
