The place is romantic no doubt. With brick walls and cute flickering lights, I felt the place quite intimate. The aroma at Aroma is simply great with all the Italiano fervor, the oregano and all. Especially liked the meatballs at starter! Then the savory bites of lamb sausage are unforgettable. The mushrooms with sausage made my day. I was with a friend who was eating Italian for the first time. I must add that you can’t get a better Mediterranean experience at any other place in NYC not even enotecas.
The light background music is great and sometimes my feet felt moving in salsa. The bartender gave good service in preparing ma wine and my friend ordered for the simple beer. All was good.
It is just a tiny place and if you plan to be here with crowd, make sure to call and set reservations. Lovely place on even weekdays!

The place is just too small. I did not like the waiters coming and going every time touching ma table. I had taken a few business friends along and the meeting did not go well. The limited variety of JUST the Italian food and short list of wines is not good for the meetings. We placed order for black linguine with poached white shrimp, squid, cherry tomatoes, risotto and lobster. Then there was the desert. Overall the food was average. The bread pudding however was good. I took a bigger portion of it.
There was a great rush of people from Mediterranean and their culture overshadowed. Everyone knows they are quite noisy and speak a lot on meals. It felt kind of lousy.
