by Ryan W. on It boils down to this - food was good - service was AWFUL - night club was fun. It was my roommate's girlfriend's birthday. We went for dinner and then to hang out at restaurant turned lounge. For dinner I had the Chicken Malai Makhni (chicken in a masala type sauce) and ordered the Daal appetizer (which I know I clearly said). Before I knew it, the entrees arrived and I asked what happened to my Daal - the waiter wrote me down for having two entrees? wtf? Who normally orders two entrees? I told them to take it back - I wasn't about to pay quadruple for a 'supposed to be' appetizer that was their mistake. My friends decide to go ahead and keep it at the table to share. Even though I didn't want to like it, the Daal was tasty. We all wanted to eat our food with naan as well - I common item to eat with Indian food. They forgot the order and our meals got cold while waiting! We all tried some of our dishes, but didn't want to have a empty plate and a basket of naan - argh. I hate righting a review that is more about the shitty service than the food. I just moved my rating from 3 to 2 stars. You would think a place like Earth would be better with the things that either really make or break an experience - guess not. The night club was cool - I liked the belly dancer. She danced around balancing a plate of candles on her head - kinda cool. The music was fun and contrary to some of the other reviews - the DJ did a nice job mixing and beat matching. It's EXPENSIVE in pretentious sort of way. If I came in from the mid-west without ever having been in NYC before and came to Earth, I would just the write the cost of as 'well, that's NYC for ya.' Knowing the town and what is available, the prices doesn't add up. I have paid less for ten times better experiences. I don't know that I will be back - plenty of other places to get good Indian food and dance where I know the service wont completely suck.
by Cornell Ausby on I went on a Saturday night last year and it was OK. Had no problem getting in. Playing hiphop, reggae and reggaeton at first. Then, the reggaeton and spanish music took over most of the night. Too much of anything is not a good thing at a club. Too small for me too. I didn't like the crowd. It seemed like everyonoe just turned 21 and the guys were just annoying and short!!! Kept bumping into the same ppl I was trying to avoid. Also, the wood floors by the bar area was uneven. Not a good look for a lounge. I hope they fixed it. I give it 2 starts because it wasn't that bad at first but then it changed. I wouldn't go back again though. I just wanted to check it out myself. I only went here because a male friend of mine liked it during after hours.
