by Steve M. on Great NON LA vibe. Good music on both sides. I LOVE house music, and like hiphop...so you can walk to each side of the place and get a taste of both world. If you want to chill out and dance to tecno....done. If you want to grind it up to some RnB....done. Drink prices are on par with LA, and the Valet sometimes is full so street parking might happen(as it did for us). But it definitely is a friendly vibe. I would definitely be back for a second round.
by Karina Narayanan on I went on a Thursday night event this week. The line wasn't long. Got in right away. Place didn't get a good enough crowd till about 1 AM. The crowd depends on the promoter but it is usually mixed. However, I was the only Asian girl there that night. I don't mind though. Mainly hiphop, reggae and rnb was played. It wasn't too packed and I had room to move around. Be careful with the cashier because she tried getting me to pay $15 when I was suppose to be free before 12 and it was 11:45. She probably wanted to pocket the money herself. The security people are really thorough with checking you - both male and females. I guess that's a good thing. I went with two of my boys and they both said that it was the most firm and thorough check they also got. Also, I didn't know I had some kinda ASP spray that my ex gave me in my inside northface jacket pocket. It is kinda like a mace spray, I think that's what you call it. I tend to forget about it. Well, I usually forget to take it out and leave it in my car when I go to clubs. But...that security girl Anna...boy she was really thorough. So, she kept it for me and told me to take it from her later on before I left. I looked for her before I left and she was gone. At least she didn't kick me out and try to make me go back and put it in my car. Drinks were expensive like usual. They're actually a norm to me now. So, I don't consider it expensive but my friends kept on saying that though. They're used to going to lower key lounges. Bad thing was the drinks weren't strong enough. Unless, I'm getting used to drinking coz I'm considered a lightweight. The beds were a different and interesting look. I just kept on thinking on how many times those sheets were washed. You really don't know what's been on it. Bathroom was UNISEX. Kinda funny because the mirrors are the bathroom doors. Only the people on the inside can see. It seemed like people where watching me pee when they were fixing themselves which kept on cracking me up!!!! :-) Overall, pretty good! Great music and I was dancing all night long!!! I had a great time with old friends and we made the most of it!!!
